Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

Take a moment to think about your childhood or that of your children or grandchildren ... and I hope and trust that like me it evokes memories of happy times shared ... of a loving and caring family ... of the support and reassurance of your parents.

My sister and I were fortunate to have had such a childhood ... brought up in a home full of the unconditional love and care of our Mum & Dad, with their unwavering support in all we did and in the time they took & the sacrifices they made to ensure we had a happy childhood. For this we will be eternally grateful.

Sadly for many children then, and still to this day, there has been "no Mummy's kisses and no Daddy's smiles" and they have only known a world bereft of love and full of sadness, of neglect and cruelty.  

This injustice was something my Mum was passionate about and as children, we were frequently reminded just how lucky we were. She believed that EVERY child deserved love & care.

Sadly in July 2013, the remarkable woman some of you knew as "Della" but who we are proud to call "Mum" passed away and we created a tribute fund in her memory to help fund the work of the NSPCC, a charity we know was close to her heart.

This year we will be marking the 5th anniversary of her death and I will also be celebrating my 50th birthday ...

... to recognise both milestones, I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon dressed as a "Welsh Girl" in memory of my Mum and will be attempting to raise £1702:68 for the NSPCC
