I’ve messed up. I have promised two charities that I'll fundraise for them, not wanting to let either down or be able to decide which deserves my effort more I will fundraise for them both.
I have spent my winter running around in hideous weather trying to get to the level of fitness needed to complete 26.2 miles running. It's been tough mentally and physically, when I first signed up I thought 26.2 miles would be the tough part but the training takes the michael. I have gone from not being a runner at all and near destroying myself on a 2 mile lap of the park to feeling I could actually have a chance of success. My first test happens on 21st February 2010. I will be running the Brighton
Sussex Beacon half marathon (13.1 miles). Then I will be competing in the
Reading half marathon on the 21st March. Then ready for the full
Brighton marathon on the 18th April.
Unlike Guide Dogs,
Canine Partners aren't as well known but they provide just as an important service. They train dogs to such a high standard so that they can help their disabled owners and provide independence and a better quality of life. Please take time to visit their
website and it won’t take long to see how important a charity this is.
Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Just Giving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. It also means I don’t have to hunt everyone down afterwards and collect cash.
So please dig deep and donate now.
