Story
This year marks the 80th Anniversary of RAF Regiment. Since its formation in 1942, the RAF Regiment has played a vital role in major operations across the world, including WWII, Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands and Afghanistan.
A small team of Force Protection personnel known as The Raptors are attempting to fly the coastline of mainland UK using Paramotors. A successful attempt to fly the coastline of mainland UK will be a world record. The Paramotor Challenge is part of the celebration of 80 years since the formation of the RAF Regt and 100 years since the formation of the RAF Armoured Car Companies. Known as the 80/100th, there are a number of events spread across the Regt. Our aim is to raise funds for 2 worthy causes, the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Centurion Fund.
The formal attempt will take place 01 – 30 Aug 22, but there is a number of build up events at various locations around the UK. The aim is to complete the 3192 miles of the UK coastline in 30 days.
The team consists of 3 pilots, Tim Taylor, Mike O’Hara and Andy Whisker. Mike and I are RAF Regiment Reservists and Andy is a Regular RAFP officer. The team will be supported by a small ground team of Reservists that will follow the attempt in vehicles.
Thank you for any contribution you can make, it will be gratefully received.

Working alongside each other, the Centurion Fund support and maintain the history, traditions and ethos of RAF Regiment members, many of which the RAF Benevolent Fund have supported in their hour of need. They could not continue to commemorate the RAF Regiment and support members of the RAF Family like them today, without your support.
