Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Thirty years ago my father ran the very first Belfast Marathon. This year, on its 30th Anniversary I hope to follow in his footsteps.
I've run two half-marathons however this is quite a leap for me! I've been training for 6 months and the reason I've been able to persevere during the winter weather is because of what I'm running for.
I hope to raise £1000 for UK charity Care for the Family. I've been working for this charity for almost a year and it's been a great privilege to hear many of the stories of how tens of thousands of families are being supported and resourced for both the good times and through family difficulties.
Care for the Family initiatives include:
Community parenting courses, relationship education, debt courses, parent support for parents who have children with eating disorders. Befriending support for parents who have lost a child or those who have been widowed young. They also provide bursaries for single parent families so that they can have a family break together, many of them for the first time ever.
These are just a few ways Care for the Family is working to strengthen family life in the UK. For more information visit http://www.careforthefamily.org.uk
I'd also encourage you to take a few minutes to view two brilliant snapshots of Care for the Family's work by clicking the YouTube links below:

Thank you so much for your support. Knowing you're with me in this will spur me on between the 1st and 26th mile!
