Story
Leading the fight against type 1 diabetes (T1D), JDRF is committed to funding research to improve lives and cure this disease and has been doing so for the past 45 years.
T1D is a lifelong autoimmune disease that destroys the bodys ability to process sugar by attacking the cells that produce insulin. Since people with T1D cannot produce insulin naturally, they must take it either through multiple daily injections or from an insulin pump.
In just the past few years, JDRF has achieved some major milestones, such as:
12.8 million needles avoided with the Federal Governments Insulin Pump Program
52 clinical trials and studies funded in the last FY
960 support and education packs delivered to families newly diagnosed with T1D
Over $13 million invested into research in the last FYand its all thanks to the generosity of people who share the vision of a world without T1D. With your help, we can turn type one into type none.
