Story

I am dusting off my distance trainers (they are not running trainers), and I have entered TCS London Marathon, I am doing this in support
of MACS who have supported us as a family and Ben (as an individual) for many years. I know lots of you will know I have run a marathon or 2, (more like 200+) but after Covid hit I have rarely run a 5k let alone any real distance, so this is a challenge like my first London Marathon back in 2010.

This year, 114 families in the UK will be told their babies have no eyes, small eyes, or a cleft in the eye. Many of them will have additional needs or other health challenges. Some will be told there’s no hope that their child will ever see. They may feel hopeless and alone - but they are not alone and there is hope.

MACS is the UK's national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. We help over 3000 people from 1000 families across the UK, supporting them at every stage of their journey by providing peer support, practical help and opportunities to take part in life-changing activity trips.
