Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.

The objective of our walk is simple;

1) After the Summer, Joseph will be starting A-Levels, so spending 6 days together walking the length of Hadrian's Wall (the wall that separates England & Scotland) will be an ideal time for us to spend some time together.

2) Joseph loves (Roman) history, so there are plenty of points of interest to distract us from the smelly socks & blisters.

3) Back in the early part of the last century my Great Grandad lived in Bowness-on-Solway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowness-on-Solway, so a fitting point to end the walk, staying in the Kings Arms pub http://www.kingsarmsbowness.co.uk/ close to where the family house once stood.

4) We've found Bunkhouses and B&B's every 15 miles along the way so with my current back 'issue' we don't need to carry a tent.

5) We shouldn't get lost following a wall.

6) Our grandparents have suffered with Alzheimer's, so whilst walking...why not raise a bit of money?
