Sorry everyone but I had to pull out of the St Helens event due to coming down with a stomach bug the Friday before.

Fortunately I've found another 10k to do on Saturday 24th which is in Richmond/Twickenham so I'm going to run that for all the sponsorship you've generously given. Not going to be the same as running into the new saints stadium but there's always next year for that!!

After tipping the scales at a record weight at Christmas 2011 and the clock ticking inexorably towards 40, the time had come to get off the sofa and set myself some challenges! I thought I'd start by running the St Helens 10k race on Sunday 11th March.

An added incentive was that the race finishes inside the amazing new St Helens rugby stadium, Langtree Park. As my rugby career is long over, I figured this would be my only chance to perform on this stage!

The charity I have chosen to support is Willowbrook Hospice in St Helens. Willowbrook cares for people over eighteen years of age with life-limiting illnesses living in the St Helens and Knowsley area. As a Charity, no charge is made for their services, but rely on their own fundraising efforts and a modest contribution from the NHS. This enables them to provide support to patients and their families according to their individual needs.
