Story
The Trussel Trust support those most in need across the United Kingdom. No one in this country should go hungry and it is a sad state of affairs that reliance on food banks is growing daily. Over a six month period from April-September 2019, 823,145 three day emergency food parcels were given to people in crisis in the U.K over a third of these, (301,653) went to children. To put that in to perspective that's a 23% increase on the same period the following year.
Anything that you can give to help support the Trussel Trust and the national food bank will be greatly appreciated.
I had aimed to run three marathons and several shorter races during 2020, but most have obviously been cancelled or postponed because of Coronavirus. Instead I have changed the challenge to me running as many miles as I can during 2020. I will still undertake challenges to keep the motivation going.
The biggest challenge was to run 100 miles in a week from the 25th-31st of May as part of a virtual running challenge which included a 55 mile lap of the Isle of Arran which I completed in roughly 9 hours 45 minutes on a very hot day!
After a disappointing summer running wise due to injury (I couldn’t really run properly for 3-4 months) I am now back to roughly running 40 miles a week. So far this year I have completed 1733 miles in 250 hours of running with an elevation gain of 172,000ft.
I am aiming to run at least one more marathon before the end of the year..
Make sure that those in need have food this Christmas time by supporting the national food bank.
