Story

On the 5th September 2014 our beautiful little miracle Olivia was born. This was the happiest times of our life’s and  no words could explain the love we had for our little girl. Then in  November 2014 at the age of just three months things changed over night. After just a routine visit to the health clinic we were told to go straight to Epsom hospital for an emergency CT scan. The results showing that our beautiful perfect little girl had Sagittal Craniosynostosis. We were told Olivia was going to need emergency surgery to make incisions in the skull that would then allow her brain to grow as Olivias skull had already fused. It was a terrifying time and suddenly our certain future was no longer certain. It was full of appointments, needles, scans and the possibility no parent ever wants to face.... there was a possibility that our beautiful baby girl would no longer be ours. In what felt like a hopeless time, Great Ormond Street made us feel welcome, secure safe and assured that Olivia would be okay. They gave our beautiful baby the best treatment we could have ever asked for and gave her a future which we thought may not be possible. They made you feel like part of their family and always greeted you with a smile. Your pain was their pain and it was always understood....

Olivia still needs on going treatment and is due to have another major operation on the 29th May  to re cut one of the incisions on her skull but she is no longer in a life threatening position and that was all thanks to the amazing work of the surgeons, nurses, and admin teams for the ongoing treatment and how quick they acted to save our little girl.

I could never ever find the words to thank them for everything they did and continue to do, however what i can do is raise money to help continue with research, help another family to ensure that they never ever have to go through what we went through, and if they do, that they continue to receive the support that we still so desperately need.

Therefore I am running the London Marathon in honour of Great Ormond Street, anyone who knows my little princess knows what a wonderful fun loving amazing brave little girl she is, so if she can take on all that. Then this should be a walk in the park for me.

I couldn’t  thank this CharIty enough so it doesn’t matter how big or small the donation But please help me to support this fantastic. Charity x
