Story
When I decided that I wanted to run the London Marathon I knew that I wanted to do so for a good cause. I also knew I wanted to run a long way to make a big difference for a small charity. I wanted to know that every penny kindly donated would have a tangible and real impact and make a difference that can be really felt at an individual level.
That is exactly what the Bone Cancer Research Trust do. I am so lucky that I have not been personally affected by the scourge of primary bone cancer, but this brutal disease is horribly hard to recognise and diagnose, painful to treat and all-too-often has tragic outcomes for those who suffer from it. But through research #teambones are fighting back.
The Bone Cancer Research Trust specialise in fighting primary bone cancer through:
RESEARCH: Funding specialist research into preventing and treating primary bone cancer.
INFORMATION: Providing sufferers of primary bone cancer, and their families, with the best and most trusted specialist information that exists.
AWARENESS: Making sure that more and more people are aware of the symptoms, and increasing the expertise of medical professionals in diagnosing and fighting it.
SUPPORT: Being there for everyone fighting primary bone cancer, leading to better outcomes for all those affected.
£2500 is a huge target, but every donation WILL make a real, noticeable, difference.
£4 could provide a child with a storybook that makes their treatment and recovery less daunting.
£30 could fund an hour of life saving research.
£85 would fund a whole day of research for PhD student studying for the fight against primary bone cancer.
Just imagine how much good £2500 will do! Please give whatever you can and be a part of making that difference.
I will be so proud that every stride, every sore muscle and every blister I get on this journey will be worth it in making progress in the fight against primary bone cancer, with your kind support.
Until there’s a cure.
