Climb For Freedom Kilimanjaro Challenge 2022 · 16 August 2022

A passionate team of active IJM champions are undertaking a challenging six-day climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, via the Rongai route, all to raise vital funds for IJM to help bring an end to slavery and violence across the world.

Story

Following on from last year's cycling escapades, this year I decided to go one (actually quite a few) higher and set myself the supreme challenge of dragging myself up the tallest freestanding mountain in the world: Mt Kilimanjaro. That will be quite a task for me as my body (particularly ankle and back) is not in the best condition for scaling the escalator at Bank let alone a massive mountain...

But , this is all for raising vital funds for International Justice Mission (or IJM) who have a goal to bring an end to modern slavery and violence around the world.

Over 40 million children, women and men are held in slavery today more than any other time in history and the pandemic has only increased the vulnerability of people living in poverty to encountering violence and exploitation.

But you and I can do something amazing by supporting IJM's work: they literally save people from slavery and bring the perpetrators to justice, whilst helping local law enforcement strengthen justice systems.

The more we can raise, the more lives we can save. Let's do this!
