Tim’s 2019 London Marathon in aid of Pseudomyxoma Survivor (Charity No 1143643)
As many of you will know my dad was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei in 2008 and underwent 14 ½ hours of cytoreductive surgery for the removal of the tumour. Thanks to the wonderful surgeons and staff at the specialist centre at Basingstoke Hospital, ten years on he is well and able to enjoy life to the full.
Dad was at a conference at the hospital back in December and after a brief conversation with the lovely Angela from the Pseudomyxoma Survivor charity I find myself in training for my third London Marathon.
Dad is a survivor of the disease and, as a family, we entirely support the work of the Pseudomyxoma Survivor charity whose primary aims are to raise awareness, both in the medical profession and the wider community, and to provide support to those affected by the disease.
Thank you for reading.
