Sailing has been a passion of mine since the age of 16 and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to test myself mentally and physically sailing across the Atlantic during the month of November with four friends.We will set off from Gran Canaria and sail 840 miles to Cape Verde where the trade winds should kick in and then over to St Lucia covering a further 2100 miles.

Carol (my wife )and I  have been blessed to have adopted two great children Alex and Connor who are now young adults. Along the way we have met other families who have adopted children. The Athlone Trust  are incredibly supportive of adoptive children and their families and I feel that this is a wonderful way to support this charity.
