Val was diagnosed in 2020 during the pandemic with triple negative breast cancer that had spread and despite the best efforts of everyone, it couldn't be cured as it was too aggressive. Lots of different chemotherapies were tried, as well as surgery however this was to no avail. She was the bravest person I know.

She was at the hospice for a week at the end of August 2022 where they cared for her wonderfully in the last week of her life and she sadly passed away on 2nd September 2022. 

We all miss her so very very much, especially both Emma and I.
