Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you will know we recently lost Mum after a long, hard battle against Myloma. Mum was lucky enough to be able to occupy a bed in Saint Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough, where she was provided with the most fabulous end of life care and we were supported at every step of the way by the truly amazing nursing staff and care team there.
As a family, we were already familiar with the fantastic facility and care provided by Saint Catherines as my Dad was fortunate enough to have been given respite care there, to give my Mum a break from caring for him 24/7 before he lost his battle with Multiple Sclerosis over 15 years ago.
Saint Catherines Hospice relies heavily on fundraising to be able to provide the service it does, with over 90% of all operating costs needed to be generated through fundraising each and every year. This really is incredible to comprehend and even more so when you have seen what an amazing job each and every person there does. Nothing is ever too much trouble and Mum was given everything she needed to make her as comfortable as possible.
You all know that I am not an athlete, and I am even less of a swimmer. I rarely come out to the masses to ask for charitable donations and when I have done in the past it is for very good reason and a very good cause.
I ask you to dig deep for me to support Saint Catherines. Training is not quite going to plan and having your donation will help me get to the end of the mile I'm sure.
For context:
£20 pays for the meals for one patient for one day
£500 pays for an in-patient bed for one day
It costs £10,00 to run Saint Catherines for 1 day
Please, please, dig deep. It's not long until the swim so act now, don't put it off until later.
I won't be coming to you for charity for quite a long while.....
A massive thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
Tim
