Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page to support the Canal & River Trust
By visiting this page it shows that you are considering supporting me in this challenge, which has now expanded to a "Two Marathon Challenge". That is right I will be running not one, but two marathons! I will be running the Manchester Marathon on 8 April 2018 (for the Teenage Cancer Trust) and then just two weeks later running the London Marathon 2018 on behalf of the Canal & River Trust.
This will be a huge challenge which, with your support, I plan to achieve. Hopefully by the time you have finished reading to the end of this you will be inspired to donate a small amount to help reach the fund raising target. Any amount would be hugely appreciated and will help me thorough those dark cold winter months of training as well as the race itself.
The Canal & River Trust are a charity, here to protect over 2,000 miles of waterways in England and Wales. On top of maintaining 2,000 miles of canals and rivers, which are often over 200 years old, they are responsible for an enormous network of bridges, embankments, towpath, aqueducts, locks, docks and reservoirs and more. The waterway network is a national treasure . It makes people's lives better. The health and well-being benefits of the waterways are invaluable and through raising money for the Trust, we would be doing our part to protect and conserve our waterways for future generations, as the Trust are there to ensure that they are protected forever.
Waterways can be enjoyed by water, on foot, on a bike, with friends or on you own. I will certainly be using the towpath network as part of my training. Thanks to the efforts of the Trust, millions of children have the chance to experience local wildlife - even to see a kingfisher or an otter close up. Those struggling with the pressure of day-to-day life have somewhere to rejuvenate themselves. Waterways provide a place on our doorstep where we can simply stretch our legs and soak up 200 years of history, wildlife and peace and tranquillity - for free.
From improving towpaths or creating new wildlife habitats to maintaining their distinctive infrastructure and heritage, the Trust constantly strive to make the canals and rivers the very best they can be, but like any charity need funds to achieve this.
So if you can spare a few pounds and support me and this wonderful charity, that would be fantastic and thank you, thank you, thank you.
