Story
I don't know how, but I'm going to run Edinburgh Marathon in May 2023 !
I am running for Endometriosis UK as it's a charity that sits close to my heart.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women, equating to 176 million worldwide and yet takes on average 8 years to be diagnosed and even from that, both the cause and treatment to cure is unknown.
This is the link to the page where you can learn more about Endometriosis directly: https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/what-endometriosis
Women are being declined the proper healthcare they deserve. Medical staff fail to be educated on the condition and follow to poorly treat women, ignoring and dismissing us, failing to investigate at the level they should.
Knowing women who have gone through years of desperately seeking a diagnosis and in the process of fighting for mine, this charities aim is, "To help individuals overcome the impact endometriosis can have on their lives. For everyone to have the right to fast, appropriate care, support and treatment." Any funding that is raised goes straight into raising awareness and pushing for this aspect of womens' health to be taken more seriously.
If you feel you would like to support, then please give whatever you can or simply share the link to raise awareness.
Thank you very much,
Tilly xx
