Story
Hello again!
This year my fab little sis Carly & I are once again making a splash for the MS Society by swimming in the Great North Swim - Lake Windermere on Saturday 15th June at 4pm. After our stunning success in managing to survive the murky & v tidal waters of eh Thames last year in the Great London Swim, despite the helpful comments of everyone who warned us about the things lurking in the river, such as bacteria, poisonous algae & leeches! We were to have been joined by the 3rd Brookfield sister - Kerry - who rashly tearfully said she was so proud of us that she would join us next year. But surprisingly finds she has a prior engagement in the day. Am sure he will make up for her absence from Team Brookfield with a generous cash donation. In fact I am sure that Kerry could secure a huge amount of sponsorship by just posting a video of herself on Youtube trying to get into a wetsuit! Over to you Kerry!.
My work as an MS Nurse in Birmingham for the past 8yrs has brought me into contact with some amazing, inspirational people, not least Simon Arrowsmit & Diane Morgan - both sadly no longer with us , but will always remain in my heart & in my memory. I remain commited to suporting the MS Society in any way I can to allow them to continue their vital work in supporting people affected by MS & their families throug their network of branches & nationally with information, telephone help-line. The MS Society also provides financial support in the form of grants for equipment & holiday/respite. Nationally the MS Society is also currently funding over 70 research projects totalling £19million. This longterm neurological condition remains currently incurable & affects an estimated 100,000 people in the UK, striking often between the ages of 20 & 40 when people just want to get on with their busy lives with family, career, setting up a home. Please help us continue to help them to do thids vital work. Also rememember that the MS Society need not just money but enthusiastic volunteers to carry out their work. It's amazing what they can persuede you to do - I never thought I would be open water swimming despite my fish phobia or abseiling off Fort Dunlop despite my fear of heights!. I have adopted the M People song as my theme tune & play it often during the build up to these events to motivate me. Please sponsor us in our madcap antics then you will have the answer to : "What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
Huge Thanks
