Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page
On 3rd April 2022, 7 of Rorys family and friends will be doing Manchester Marathon to raise funds to say a massive thank you to the oncology ward 86 for caring for our 2 year old Rory ‘Tiger’ Harty. He spent 3 months on the oncology ward being treated for T cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia before sadly contracting Covid which his little body couldn’t continue to fight. He fell asleep in his mummy and daddy’s arms on 19th December. We all love him immeasurably and want to do something that will be of some use, so we decided to run 26.2 miles for him. Only 3 of the team have ever run a marathon before so it’s a huge undertaking, but one we’ll do it with pride and as much bravery as our little tiger showed.
The money we raise goes towards providing cutting edge clinical research and purchasing specialist equipment to make diagnosis and treatment quicker and easier. Plus helping to make the hospital a friendlier and less scary environment for children and their families.
PLEASE DONATE TO SUPPORT US AND ALL THE OTHER FAMILIES WHO MAY HAVE TO USE THIS WARD IN THE FUTURE 💙
