Story
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Phoenix has had to close for now. Its screen is dark and its friendly, lovely staff are no longer smiling from the box office. So, as an East Finchley resident and a huge cinema fanatic, I will be hosting a 24 HOUR MOVIE MARATHON to raise money for the Phoenix during this turbulent time.
I will be performing my marathon on Saturday 18th April, which I know isn't long from now but time is precious!
The rules:
1) The 12 HIGHEST DONATIONS will pick the 12 films I will view. This is to achieve a sense of competition and fundraising and, also, you may be as nice or as punishing as you see fit. So please PUT YOUR MOVIE SUGGESTION IN YOUR DONATION.
2) The film must be within 2 hours (120 minutes) so as to ensure I see all 12 films within the time (approx.) They must be on Netflix UK (you
can see the full catalogue here: https://uk.newonnetflix.info/catalogue)
I will update my progress via Twitter and Instagram. Text and video chaps; it won't be pretty by around hour 14. You've been warned.
Please share this page and keep cinema thriving!
THANK YOU for any donations and I understand 110% if you are not in a position to donate. I know times are tough and money is tight - please only donate if you feel able (and are saving all that commuting money!) Thank you - us cinephiles have to pull together at times like this.
Stay safe, stay at home and watch a movie (potentially not 12 in a row though)
