Story
I'm brand new to the world of cycling, tiny race wheels, uncomfortable and pain-inducing bike seats and clip-in pedals. I have no idea what I am getting into, however, I decided to take on the challenge of cycling from London to Paris, in four days, to help make a difference in the lives of those fighting multiple myeloma.
Myeloma is the second most common type of blood cancer. It does not cause tumors like many other types of cancer. Instead, it causes damage to DNA during development of the plasma cells in the bone marrow, causing them to divide uncontrollably.
I just bought a bike and have begun training. It won't be easy, but it is for a great cause and charity. Myeloma UK is accelerating the discovery, development and access to new treatments, while helping patients and their families cope with everything a diagnosis of myeloma brings. Thank you for considering to support me as I take on this challenge.
