Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have chosen to take part in this challenge with my good friend and colleague Rachel Walsh for a number of reasons. Most simply, too many people lose their lives to cancer all the time. What is truly amazing about Macmillan is that they work tirelessly to provide vital support to those that are suffering. Macmillan can give answers to those horrible questions like 'what do I do next?' 'how do I tell my family?' 'how can I support myself financially while I am ill?' Through to the most complex personal and palliative care. It's at times of austerity that charities like Macmillan need our support the most, so I'm begging you to dig deep!
On a personal note, Rach n I were also keen to set ourselves a challenge to mark the end of what has been a very tough 18 months training as child protection social workers in London. I've met some amazing people but I'd be lying if I said it hasn been really hard. This challenge takes place at the end of the placement, so what a good way to round it off and raise some money for an excellent cause. Thank you for supporting us!
