We raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

We're back! For the fourth year running, over the course my birthday month I'll be fundraising for a cause very close to my heart.

In 2018, my mum was given a terminal diagnosis. Since then, we've been through 10 rounds of chemo, radiotherapy, immunotherapy once every three weeks without fail, and many many many cups of ginger tea. On 7th June this year, we celebrated her 3 year diagniversary and it makes me beyond proud to watch her fight this disease year after year.

Around 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year & we've been so fortunate to have been supported by the likes of The Maggie's Centres, Dorothy House and, most importantly, the incredible team at The Royal Marsden. They, quite literally, saved my mum's life back in 2018 and have made sure she is given the best treatment they can offer ever since. If it weren't for them, my mum wouldn't have been there to see my sister to university, or wear my cap on my graduation day. I am thankful for every day the Royal Marsden give us and it would mean the world to be able to repay just a little of that gratitude.

So, this year, as I turn 24, I will be running my first ever half marathon in aid of the research at The Royal Marsden. It's going to be a long, cold 21km, but I'll be lacing up my shoes for those long training runs through October and turning up at 7am to the Wimbledon Common Half Marathon on 31st.

I know these past two years have been rough (to say the least), but any spare change you have means the absolute world to me & my little family. So, wish me luck and as always, a biiiiiig fuck you to cancer :)
