LYR believe sport changes lives and should be available to all, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity or otherwise. 

They use rowing as a tool to get young people active and learning crucial life skills, necessary for success in the classroom and workplace. Rowing offers an opportunity to enjoy sport outside of traditional school activities and nurtures qualities like determination and resilience. From Hounslow to Barking and Dagenham, their outreach programmes work with over 70 schools and around 9000 young people each year.
