Tall Ships Youth Trust is the UK’s oldest and largest youth development sail training charity. With a focus on helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, our mission is to enable them to fulfil their life potential through experiences at sea and by breaking down the barriers they face.

Story

We are a group of amateur sailors seeking to raise funds to build a better future for young people, because we know the benefits of seeing a different horizon.

We are willingly competing in this Challenger Round the Isle of Wight event in chilly UK February, funding our own event. Are you willing to make a small sponsorship to help a disadvantaged young person develop life skills, confidence and belief in their strengths to change their future?

Under the guidance of qualified personnel, aboard a 72 foot yacht, the young people will experience teamwork, learn to rely on each other, exploring their own abilities to navigate around UK waters. They will learn many transferable life skills to enable them to navigate the ever changing seas of life with the knowledge that calm or stormy, they have the tools and skills to steer their own journeys.

The Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) is a charity whose mission is to enable young people aged 12-25 to fulfil their life potential through genuinely life changing adventures at sea. With a history dating back over 55 years, the recent situation has seen charitable donations dwindle so we are funding our own event and appealing to family, friends and other sponsors to consider making a donation of any amount to the charity via this Just Giving page to enable these life changing opportunities to continue.
