Story
We have thrown two crazy actuaries, one ex-marine, one ski-journalist and a triathlete together and entered the Hebridean Challenge. The Hebridean Challenge is an adventure race that covers the whole length and width of the Outer Hebrides ( http://www.hebrideanchallenge.com/ ). The race takes place over 5 days and is estimated to cover about 700km on foot, road bike, mountain bike, swimming and sea kayaking.
We are doing this to raise some money for a charity called Access Sports. The following paragraph is taken from their website.
"Access Sport exists to give young people the opportunity to play sport. We do this working with the nation's network of clubs, coaches and volunteers in partnership with organizations investing in local communities. Access Sport seek to address the rising obesity levels and other health and social issues, such as juvenile delinquency, by engaging young people in active sporting programmes within their community."
Sport is such an integral part in my life and has provided me with hours of fun, learning life's lessons, meeting good mates and being healthy for it. My belief is that all children should be able to enjoy the same opportunities I have had.
