Story
Calais Appeal are a group of 7 humanitarian aid organisations in Calais. They collaborate to provide food, firewood, clothing, information, hygiene packs, first aid and basic shelter to people who find themselves blocked at the border between France and the UK.
The biggest funder of Refugee Aid in Calais pulled out in January, leaving these organisations at risk of closing down. They currently provide a range of essential services which neither the French nor British authorities are willing to offer.
Without them, these people would simply not be supported.
With the recent unrest in Ukraine, there is an increased number of refugees in this area. People will become more desperate, and more people will lose their lives if we don’t act now.
Over Easter myself and some friends are planning to hitchhike over 1000miles: From the UK to Prague, Czech Republic in 9 days, in order to raise money for these charities.
We would be extremely grateful if you could spare any donations, big or small, to contribute to the more than vital work these guys are doing on the ground.
Please read more about what each of the member organisations do, they are truly incredible: https://www.calaisappeal.co.uk/about-us
