Story
As many of you know, Simon (Scoop) wrote a blog about real (and not so real) ale - reluctantscooper.blogspot.com - have a read if you haven't already. He mentioned Throxheards Old Unobtainable in a few posts, but firstly in this one http://reluctantscooper.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/scrooged-or-cautionary-tale-of-how-beer.html which gave Phil Hardy of Otter's Tears an idea which has come to life with help from Andy Parker from Elusive Brewing...
The wait for Throxheards Old Unobtainable is almost over! The official bottle launch will be at The Furnace Inn, Duke Street, Derby at 1.00 pm on Sunday 26th November (the day after what would have been Simon's 49th birthday) with a small gathering, a secret auction and complimentary cheese and biscuits. The Furnace was one of Simon's favourite watering holes and bimble venues.
Please come along and support the British Heart Foundation in Simon's memory, bid for a bottle of the beer and hear some of his musings from the blog.
This page is to collect the bids and obviously, donations are very welcome too! If you would like to make a bid but can't make it on the day, please contact me privately via Facebook or Twitter (@BecEmerald) and I'll make sure that your bid is entered.
Bottles will go on general sale on Tuesday 28th November, all proceeds from which will also be going to the British Heart Foundation in Scoop's memory.
Thanks, as ever, for your support
Bec (Mrs Scoop)
