Three National Peaks Challenge for Take Heart Charity
Cardio Respiratory is raising money for Take Heart
Story
Hello everyone and welcome to this JustGiving campaign which has been set up in aid of Take Heart Charity. On September 3rd, a group of ~30 colleagues and friends from the Cardio-Respiratory department at the Leeds Teaching Hospital group will be aiming to complete the Three National Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in 24h to raise funds for Take Heart.
Take Heart was founded in 1989 and since then has raised over 6 million pounds to fund both major projects and minor (such as funding the Take Heart Cardiac Suite at Leeds General Infirmary).
The charity is committed to giving care and comfort to patients and their families at the Yorkshire Heart Centre at Leeds General Infirmary and St James Hospital and its Units within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Donating will help Take Heart continue making life more comfortable for Heart Patients in the Yorkshire Heart Centre in LGI. They supply furniture for wards, provide free bedside TV and phone calls for all heart patients, provide up to date equipment for staff and provide a roof garden adjacent to the heart wards to provide a breath of fresh air for patients, visitors and staff. As well as this, they also provide en-suite accommodation for out-of-town relatives completely free of charge.
Many of us know, either personally or through friends and family, someone who has been affected by heart disease in some form. We hope that these funds can make a difference and continue to support the amazing work that Take Heart Charity carries out.
