Story
Hi, We are Laura, Lucy and Lynne. We have been friends for over twenty years. We have celebrated all of life's events together: graduations, weddings and babies. In October 2021, Lucy gave birth to her second child, beautiful baby Lily. Sadly, when Lily was just five months old, Lucy was diagnosed with Stage II unfavorable Hodgkin Lymphoma (a type of blood cancer).
In April 2022 Lucy commenced four months of chemotherapy followed by three weeks of radiotherapy. Whilst she is still awaiting her final scan, the outlook is now looking thankfully very promising.
At the point of diagnosis, Lucy turned to the amazing charity Lymphoma Action who provide comprehensive information and support for people with lymphomas. They offered practical information and much needed reassurance. Lucy continues to rely heavily on them for support.
Lucy is keen to raise funds for Lymphoma Action to thank them for the help they have given her, and to make sure that they can continue to help others in a similar position.
In addition to the support provided by Lymphoma Action, Lucy has received phenomonal support from friends and family, including Laura and Lynne of course. So when Lucy asked them both to run the 2023 London Marathon with her to raise funds for Lymphoma Action, they agreed within minutes.
The London Marathon takes place on 23rd April 2023, exactly one year (save two days) that Lucy commenced her first round of chemotherapy. So this will be a monumental challenge. We have set ourselves an ambitious target of £7,500. Anything you can donate will be a huge difference and will be much appreciated. Thankyou.
