Story
I am attempting to walk three legged for 100 miles non-stop round Bideford's football ground between Good Friday (April 19th) and Easter Sunday (April 21st). I will be starting at 11.00am on Friday and aim to finish by 1.00pm Sunday, which is a total of 50 hours. I will have plenty of different walking partners throughout the challenge (see photo above!), with times varying between two and nine hours per person.
Having practised walking three legged I can assure you that this will not be easy. Really tough to walk in this style for any length of distance, but after last year's world record success I felt I had to think of something a little bit different! Hopefully this will gain people's interest as the walk unfolds and once again it will develop into an endurance slog which seems to work really well at raising funds!
My eldest son Ryan will be heavily involved in the entirety of the walk as he will be live streaming the event intermittently to Facebook Live Video and will be actively engaging, marketing and promoting a digital presence throughout the 50 hours of the attempt. To provide relief cover, my youngest son Danny will also be helping out. This is all with the goal of increasing the visibility of the event to raise more money.
CHSW are supporting me with fundraising as always and hopefully my efforts will be as successful as last year, which raised £3100. They are a fantastic charity doing incredible work and rely heavily on voluntary donations, without which they couldn’t perform the vital service they provide. Knowing that I am raising money for a wonderful cause will definitely help me when the going gets tough.
