We fund ground-breaking medical research to replace the use of animals in research

Story

Every day for the month of June I will write a 3-sentence story and publish it on Dystopic (http://www.dystopic.co.uk/category/short-stories/3-sentence-stories/) to raise money for Animal Free Research UK (formally Dr Hadwen Trust).

You can see the great work they do here: https://www.animalfreeresearchuk.org/

I've also decided to set some fundraising targets:

  • £250 – I will get a tattoo at Pride and Glory (https://www.prideandglorytattoo.co.uk/) of the Leaping Bunny logo (http://www.leapingbunny.org/), which is used by companies that are certified as cruelty-free.
  • £350 – I will get the tattoo, plus I will run from Westcliff to Benfleet (6 miles). I have a FitBit so I'll be able to publish a map of my route and how fast I run it on Dystopic.
  • £500+ – I will get the tattoo, plus I will run/walk/crawl from Westcliff to Benfleet AND BACK AGAIN! That's 12 miles of pure, unadulterated pain. You're welcome.

I hope you can help me reach at least one of my targets. Any amount of money you give is truly appreciated. If you can't donate, please share my Just Giving page on Facebook/Twitter.

Thank you!!

Animal Free Research UK
Animals and humans are different. In the UK in 2015, 4.1 million research procedures took place on animals. We’re redefining research, investing in scientists so they can make the breakthroughs that push medicine forward without the use of animals. Since 1970, we have awarded grants to over 200 projects. These include research into cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, diabetes, kidney, heart and liver disease, to name only a few. With your amazing support, we can advance human health and end the use of animals in medical research!

About the charity

Animal Free Research UK is a pioneering medical research charity that funds and promotes the development of techniques to replace the use of animals in research.
