Story
In 2014 my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer and after a long and difficult battle including several operations, he died in 2016. At the end of his life, Trinity Hospice provided amazing care for both my dad and my family, making a very difficult part of my life a little bit easier. Since then they’ve also provided me with first-class counselling through the Linden Centre and helped me get my life back on track.
Recently, Trinity has been providing care to people affected by Covid-19, whilst many of their planned fundraising events have had to be rethought and postponed during the pandemic.
I also planned to do the national three peaks this summer with my good friend Jonny. This also has been affected by the pandemic. We both love the outdoors and have been able to pursue this through DofE, Scouting, and the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), which have taught us to always push our limits and boundaries. So in July, Jonny and I are running & walking a virtual three peaks in memory of my dad to help support Trinity Hospice. In the space of a day, we will travel 65.14Km and climb over 1,750m of ascent whilst carrying our equipment. During this challenge, we will be observing the Government's advice concerning travel and socially distancing.
I want to give something back to this amazing charity and help keep their doors open so that they can help support other families through a painful part of their life. Any support of any size would be greatly appreciated and would help keep Trinity Hospice running. Thank you!
