Story
From family members and friends to other people’s friends and families we all know people who are battling, or have battled with cancer.
My family was unfortunate enough to experience this battle first hand, with the sad loss of Glenn Woodhouse little over two years ago. I have no doubt that if it weren't for the amazing developments in modern medicine, in part thanks to the excellent work done by Cancer Research UK, our time with Glenn would have been cut significantly shorter.
Cancer is indiscriminate, random and evil. With your help, no matter how small, we can all help to fund research that will hopefully, one day, provide the answer to beating this beast once and for all.
Cancer Research UK uses the money you donate to fund critical research that is already changing the lives of so many. From glass microscope slides to new research centres, from testing to breakthroughs, none of this is possible without our help.
The Challenge
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, lesser known than the National Challenge, takes in three peaks of the Pennine range: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Unlike other challenges The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge includes no driving. In place is a total walking distance of 24 miles (38.6km) and an ascent of 1585m (5200ft), in less than 12-hours.
On 27th of April, I will be attempting the challenge with my wife Roxanne, and a friend of mine Scott Haddon (+ 2 more), who will be hiking in support of the Costa Foundation.
