Story
Roxy, Julie and I are running Oxford Half Marathon on 13th October 2019. We met in the deepest, darkest depths of January when we joined a RunTogether couch to 5K programme. Before then, running for 2 minutes was a challenge, none of us ever dreamed we'd be running a half before 2019 is out!
Thomley is a charity close to our hearts because Roxy and I are parents to children on the Autistic Spectrum. Rebecca and Joshua are amazing little people, but struggle to make sense of the world sometimes. Thomley is a place for them to play, learn and develop in a non-judgemental, understanding and caring environment. It's also a place for families like ours to meet other parents and share stories.
We each need to raise £250 to compete in the 2019 Thomley team. The distance will be tough, the training won't be easy, but it's nothing compared to how brave and strong our children need to be to navigate daily life at such a young age. So if you could spare any amount at all, it would mean the world to us.
We are proud to be on Team Thomley and help raise funds to keep this amazing place running, so it can continue to bring more disabled people, their families, friends and carers together for many years to come.
