As the lockdown restrictions have started to eased a little bit, but with still not much hope of a return to rugby this season on the horizon, what better way to try and gain some semblance of fitness than to get on the bike for the first time in years, and while doing so raise money and awareness for an amazing charity SOHK. A group of intrepid souls from my local rugby club, Edinburgh Northern, will be tackling LEJOG...remotely. A mix of complete amateur cyclists (aka, yours truly) and some more hardened domestiques will be cycling the distance from Land's End to John O'Groats, a jaunt of a mere 1200 miles between 25-29th March. We will be virtually racing other teams but the main aim is to raise as much money as possible and that’s where you come in! School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) was established as a charity in 2012 and exists to empower and support both adults and children who are facing social inequality. Through the use of high-impact sport, tailored mentoring and by engendering an atmosphere of genuine acceptance, School of Hard Knocks enables individuals to fully realise their potential. Working across the UK in England, Scotland and Wales, SOHK delivers life-changing programmes and courses that have a long-term impact on participants mental and physical health. The School of Hard Knocks psychology is the key to the charity's success and is what makes SOHK unique. Please donate what ever you can and help support the life changing work that SOHK carries out!!
