Story
At the end of 2014, at the age of 27, I was diagnosed with a form of Leukaemia known as Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML). Thanks to a revolutionary new drug called Imatinib, I am now in full remission and living a normal life. Prior to this new treatment, the prognosis for conditions like CML was bleak, where the standard treatment was a bone marrow transplant, an invasive and risky procedure.
My recovery and quality of life now would not have been possible without the incredible research of organisations like the Institute of Cancer Research, who I have decided to support this year in running the London Marathon.
Donating really does make a difference, and I believe I am living proof of that. Anything you can give is hugely appreciated.
Thanks, and wish me luck!
