Story
Maisie, our beautiful little girl, was perfect in every way. Her charisma, charm and kindness were so magnetic, rarely a day went by where a stranger didn’t pass comment on her. We were so proud of Maisie, she was a ‘dream child.'
Maisie had her second birthday shortly before we headed to St. Lucia for a family holiday. We had an amazing time together. On the day of our homebound departure, my wife said “haven’t we got the perfect family.” That day has changed our lives forever.
Sadly Maisie contracted Meningococcal Septicaemia and passed away twelve hours after we arrived home.
Maisie did not leave us without a fight, she bravely fought against this killer disease for twelve hours. At the hospital, she said in her cute little voice “I want a drink." We didn’t know then that these would be her last words. Maisie eventually fell asleep, we never saw her awake again, she passed away in our arms on the 15th of May 2011.
Bad things do happen to good people.
It has now been nine months since we lost our little angel, our lives and home, feel empty without her. Life will never be the same again.
Please help raise money in support of our chosen charity, to help raise awareness, conduct research, and support families who have suffered the effects of this devastating disease. I wish to run for Meningitis Research Foundation in honour of a true angel, Maisie Eleanor Graham. Please give anything you can and help to eradicate this horrific disease.
