Story
Thelma is doing a Lockdown Challenge in her garden on Sunday 17th May.
I am a volunteer with Horatio's Garden at the orthopaedic hospital in Oswestry. Horatio's Garden is national charity creating and maintaining beautiful gardens in NHS Spinal Injuries Centres. They grow thriving communities to support spinal cord injury patients facing long stays in hospital, together with their families and friends.
During this Lockdown period many fundraising events and activities have been cancelled, but others are taking their place. I am going to climb Mount Snowdon (which is not too far from Oswestry Horatio's Garden) ... in my garden. We have a large garden which includes a former quarry reached by a flight of 35 steps, a height of 7 metres. Ascending and descending these steps 155 times in one day is equivalent to the height of climbing Snowdon from sea-level.
Donating will help the charity to continue offering an amazing service of beautiful gardens and therapeutic activities bringing joy and sanctuary to patients with spinal injuries.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving, they will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate they will send your money directly to the charity. So it is the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
