Thomas & his buddy Tony (affectionately known as Bear) are 2 real Life super heroes with limb loss living life to the full & inspiring everyone they meet. They are taking part in The Limbpower Children’s Marafun mile this weekend at Stoke Mandeville stadium & would love to raise a few pennies for this amazing charity.
Thomas was born prematurely with bilateral fibular hemimelia. He underwent bilateral Symes amputation just after his 1st Birthday... & since that day he has gone from strength to strength & faces every day with a beautiful smile. Just a few months after being fitted with his first prosthetic limbs, he was walking independently. There is no challenge that Thomas & his robot legs cannot conquer & he is super excited to take on this challenge with his amazing buddy.
Tony at 41 days old was admitted to hospital with multiple fractures of all his limbs, dislocations of various joints, blunt trauma to his face and multiple other injuries. He had been left anything upto 10 days before he was taken to the doctors in an unresponsive state. By this time his poor body had given up to the injuries and he developed Sepsis, toxic shock and multi organ failure. He was on the brink of death and if it wasn't for the amazing NHS working so quickly and tirelessly on him for the next 3 months he would not have survived. Sadly in 2017 due to the injuries and infection he had to have both his legs amputated but he is a happy 4 year old that loves life. He inspires so many and wants to conquer this new challenge with his buddy xx
