As some of you may know, in 2017 we unfortunately lost our first baby. Becky and I had been trying for a family for a while, so obviously the loss hit us both hard. As soon as you find out you're expecting, no matter how many weeks along you are, your whole life changes and you start making plans for a future that you can't imagine your baby not being in. When we were told we'd lost our baby we looked into miscarriage as the hospital offered us no support at all.
We found comfort and advice from Tommy's really helpful, but the more we read, the more we realised how common miscarriage and loss is, so I'm doing the Great North Run to raise money for Tommy's to continue to help those going through the same thing we went through.
Tommy's work to fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They work to make sure everyone has the best possible pregnancy outcomes, and without their work there would be lots of people who go through the pain of losing a child without the support they need.
