Story
On 21-Aug 2020 Catriona and I lost our identical twin boys, Thomas and Thacker, to TTTS. It happened very quickly and we had no warning.
Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) is a rare but life-threatening condition that affects around 15% of identical twins that share a placenta. Research is helping to build a true picture of TTTS cases in the UK and the survival rates for them. This invaluable data supports future ongoing research into TTTS including the longer-term consequences of individual treatments.
It has been an incredibly difficult time following the death of our boys. We thought a lot about how exciting our future with them was going to be. We feel lucky that we had the time that we did with them and cherish every single one of those memories.
Catriona and I would appreciate any support that you could provide to help ensure fewer people have to suffer the agony of suddenly, and inexplicably, losing their children as we did.
