Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Before the year started I mentioned privately that I wanted to run a marathon/ half marathon at some point this year. I evidently hate myself. I have done it once before, off my own back, and couldn't walk for a week after so I'm hoping for more mobility following it this time. As luck would have it, I saw the club post that they were after runners not ten days into the year, so I jumped at the chance to give a little back to an establishment which for better or worse has given me so much.
The foundation is the official charity for Leeds United Football Club. With a mission to use the power of football to enhance the lives of people across the region through opportunities in sport, education,
and healthier lifestyles.
They do this through a range of activities including health and social education in primary and secondary schools, community volunteering, sports participation for everyone, they enable young people to make positive choices about their lives and futures, and they combat loneliness and sadness for all age groups including with the Corner Flag Café, Veterans group and over 50’s social club. The Foundation is constantly adapting and evolving to meet the needs of our community.
There is a fantastic group of staff that work tirelessly behind the scenes on the various programmes delivered by the charity, helping to change and impact lives.
Your donations will help in so many ways such as:
➢ £25 could pay for a child from a disadvantaged family to attend a 1-day soccer camp in the school holidays.
➢ £85 could pay for a child from a disadvantaged family attend a one-week soccer camp in the school holidays.
➢ £100 could pay for 30 children from disadvantaged backgrounds to take part in 3 x 2-hour Premier League Kicks sessions.
➢ £150 could enable a talented female footballer to progress onto an Elite Talent Programme to further develop as a player.
➢ £300 could enable us to deliver 10 assemblies in 10 schools to support vital needs such as mental health support or anti-discrimination education.
If like me you love Leeds, think of it as potentially paying for our future number 9 to begin his journey. That's who I'm running for. Though I'd appreciate if they addressed the issue up top quicker than that.
