Story
Hello friend, thanks for following me here.
Puerto rico is in a humanitarian crisis following hurricane maria, and as I'm running the B'ham marathon this Sunday I'm taking the rather late opportunity to fundraise.
The offical death count resulting from the hurricane is ~ 50, but there are reportedly hundreds of bodies within puerto rican morgues. An enormous reason for this is due to the restricted access to safe drinking water. Even as of now, 3 weeks following the hurricane, 1/3 of the island still has no drinking water, and people are having to drink from creeks and streams to stay alive. Water born illnesses are now contributing to the death tolls, reportedly from leptospirosis, an entirely treatable bacterial infection.
Predictably, the trump administration's response to this is disgracefully insufficient, so please give what you can. Thanks
