Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are extremely excited and proud to announce that in honour of Sir Terry Pratchett, we have teamed up with The Alzheimer's Society to raise money for their vital work.

In 2007, Sir Terry Pratchett announced that he has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease. He described the diagnosis as an "embuggerance" in a radio interview, andappealed to people to "keep things cheerful" and proclaimed that "we are taking it fairly philosophically down here and possibly with a mild optimism." He was a huge advocate of research into the disease, as funding for Alzheimer's research is just 3% of that to find cancer cures. Sir Terry died of Alzheimer's on 12th March 2015.

The Alzheimer's Society provide information and support for people with all forms of the disease and their loved ones. This is done in their 230 local branches, as well as via telephone and online. They campaign for the rights of people affected by the disease, and fund vital research for the cure.

They aim to change the face of dementia research, and hope to reduce the impact of dementia on lives today and create a world without dementia tomorrow.

Please give generously to this worthy cause, and help us spread the word by liking, sharing and tweeting.
