The X-Cast: An X-Files Podcast launched at the end of 2015 to help celebrate the revival of the classic American TV series early in 2016.

I'm Tony, the creator of the show, and I am proud to say The X-Cast has grown into a vibrant, popular community of listeners and supporters who helped us reach 100k downloads over the last 18 months this year. As The X-Files prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary this September, I saw this as the chance for the show to give something back.

Over a 24 hour period on September 1st, ten days before the date, in 1993, that The X-Files first aired, I will host a celebration of the show's half-century with a live podcast broadcast featuring co-hosts, special guests, games and more, all focused around The X-Files and exploring the history of the series, and its future. It will be an endurance test as I won't come off the mic for the entire day (save a few necessary toilet breaks!).

I could have done this without trying to raise money for charity but it seemed a great opportunity to be sponsored for Alzheimer's, which was the first charity I considered. I have not had a personal experience with this disease but friends & family I know have, and it continues to be a devastating ailment that, even in some small way, it would be great to raise money to help efforts towards a cure.

So I hope, whether you're a fan of The X-Files or not, you will be able to spare a little change to help The X-Cast celebrate this milestone for one of the greatest TV shows in history while also giving back to a wonderful cause.
