Story

Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway, in an aircraft flying at 10,000ft - the noise of the engines, and the wind ringing in your ears, with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air, as you start freefalling at over 120mph! Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens, the steering toggles come down either side of you and you begin a tranquil parachute decent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below. Imagine being able to do whilst being harnessed to a professional free-fall parachute instructor and at the same time being able to help a national charity!

This is what Em Murden, Barbara Vardijan, Zara Gral, Keith Osborne, Sam Gowers, Lauren Jordan and Spencer Kite will be doing on the 11th September. This will be the first time any of us have plucked up the courage of jumping out of a perfectly good plane!

We need your help though! Please support us by donating as little or as much as you can. You're money will be going towards a fantastic cause in Magnolia House at the Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money straight to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
