Tom's Motivation To Run:
Just over a year ago I lost my best friend Murray Stewart to Cancer. For those who didn’t have the fortune of meeting him, he was an amazingly energetic and humorous friend who loved an adventure. I will be running the sweaty, sandy 250km in Murray's memory to support the Teenage Cancer Trust. The Teenage Cancer Trust supported Murray through his toughest days, providing him and his family with outstanding support. Murray will be on my shoulder, smiling at me through every second, urging me on during our gruelling time in the desert.
To ensure we raise as much money as possible for Murray and Hugo we are putting our bodies through 5 days of hell in the Wadi Rum, in Jordan. Running over 50km a day in all types of terrain from deep sand dunes, jagged deserts, dried river beds and rocky mountains. By the end of this ordeal, we will have climbed 2,522m in temperatures exceeding 30 degrees whilst running in darkness and sleeping on the desert floor experiencing sand storms, snakes and scorpions. We are doing all of this in the name of Murray and Hugo so please donate generously to watch The Wadi Warriors suffer for a good cause.
