Story

I will be steaming over on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/thetrulymad on Friday 26 February from 7pm GMT, please follow me there for more updates!

GameBlast is the UKs biggest annual charity gaming marathon weekend in aid of The Gamer's Charity SpecialEffect.

Your GameBlast donations will enable SpecialEffect to help gamers with disabilities by finding out what they want to play, and exactly what they need to play it. Everyone's abilities are different so well match, modify or create custom gaming setups, and give lifelong support so they can continue to get the best out of it.

From modified gaming controllers to eye-control systems, every system we provide is personalised. Sometimes that might mean adding voice control or a chin joystick. Or we might get the drill andsoldering iron out to adapt the button positions on aregularcontroller. There are hundreds of potential solutions, and it's our job to find the right one.

About me: I am a veteran developer turned tech recruiter currently working for Sports Interactive (one of the pillar companies of SEGA) and Huckleberry Recruitment. I am many things to many people, have experienced a lot in my 40+ years and I am lucky enough that my hobby can help raise money and awareness for such a great charity who are making gaming more accessible to people with disabilities. With the pandemic affecting the world for over a year now, gaming has become more important as it allows us to connect with others across the world and keep out minds sharp. And games are fun and should be for everyone!

Oh and if you want to work in the games industry and are a savvy C++ coder, designer, or producer, get in touch as I am always looking for talented people!

Stay safe and have a nice day!
